Iron Deficiency
Symptoms
Newly emerged leaves gets shiny yellowness.
Plants get stunted.
If severe deficiency of iron persists then the leaves turn brown and then finally get dried up.
Remedies
Apply ferrous sulphate (FeSO4) @ 3.00 kg in 600 ml of Teepol and then mix it in 600 litre of water and spray it in 1.00 hectare.

Zinc Deficiency
Symptoms
The symptoms of zinc deficiency include yellowing of upper one third part of the leaflets of middle leaves turn light yellow colour.
Gradually turn pinkish/reddish brown.
Bronzing and necrosis is observed.
Leaflet size decreases.
Plants are stunted have fewer branches.
Remedies
The deficiency can be rectified by applying zinc sulphate or zinc oxide to the foliage or soil.
Apply 25 kg zinc sulphate in light soils once in 5 years.
Apply 50 kg zinc sulphate in heavy soils once in 5 years.

ZINC CONTENT OF VARIOUS FERTILIZERS (%)
Zinc Sulphate 22 - 35%
Zinc Chelate NaZnGHEDTA 09%

Manganese Deficiency
Symptoms
Symptoms of manganese deficiency develop six weeks after germination in deficient soils.
Symptoms comprise chlorosis on the apical margin of leaflets and some curling inwards.
The size of leaves is also reduced and young leaves may develop purplish discoloration.
Soon after the deficiency symptoms are seen, the terminal growth shows severe withering and necrosis.
Remedies
Application of manganese containing fertilizers like:
Manganese sulphate @ 5 - 15 kg/ha.
Resources
MANGANESE CONTENT OF VARIOUS FERTILIZERS (%)
Manganese Sulphate 23%
Manganese polyflancohoid 5 - 7%

Sulphur Deficiency
Symptoms
Symptoms of sulphur deficiency are seen when grown in high pH calcareous soils.
Remedies
Use single super phosphate.
Sulphur deficiency can be remedied by the addition of 10 kg elemental sulphur per hectare in sandy loan soils.
This increase uptake of nitrogen and phosphorus and the seed yield of chickpea.
