Nutrient Disorder Management in Urd

 Zinc > Sulphur

Zinc Deficiency

Symptoms

  • Mature trifolate leaves develop irregular light pinkish white tissue in between the veins after 25-30 days.
  • Leaf size is reduced, thick and brittle.
  • Margins turning upward forming a cup shape.
  • Followed by brown-orange chlorosis on the leaves often show necrotic spots.

Remedies

  • Apply 25 kg Zinc sulphate in light soils and 50 kg in medium and heavy soils for a hectare.

    Zinc Sulphate 22 - 35%
    Zinc Chelate NaZnHEDTA 09%

Sulphur Deficiency

Symptoms

  • Stem is thin and woody.
  • Elongation of internodes is limited.
  • Leaf size is small.
  • Paling and chlorosis of young leaves.
  • Chlorosis starts from tip of leaves and spread to margins.

Remedies

  • Apply 20 kg sulphur in light and 40 kg in medium to heavy soils/ha.
  • In sulphur deficient soils use single super phosphate and ammonium di sulphate.
