 Mission

v      Conducting of on farm trials in order to generate location specific technology as per the research finding

v      Organize frontline demonstrations on the constraint factors for enhancing the productivity, profitability and sustainability of agricultural production system.

v      Update the knowledge of extension functionaries and create awareness as well as to improve technology of rural youth for self employment and skill development of farmers and farm women.

Mandates of KVK

v      Conducting “On farm testing” for identifying agricultural technologies for location specific sustainable land use systems.

v      Organise training to update the extension personnel with the advances in agricultural technology on regular basis.

v      Organise short and long term vocational training courses   in agriculture and allied vocations for the farmers and rural youth with emphasis on “learning by doing” for higher production on farms and generate self-employment.

v      Organise front-line demonstrations to generate production data and feedback information.

Activities of the KVK

v      On-farm trial to identify the location specificity of technology under various farming systems,

v      Frontline demonstrations to its production potentials on the farmers' fields;

v      Training of farmers to update their knowledge and skills; and

v      Training of extension personnel to orient them in the frontier areas of technology development.
